died, three people were injured while trying to save some valuables by

RESIDENTS in the township of Tabubil, Western Province, are cowering 
in “horror and fear” after a week-old baby was eaten alive in front of a
 shell-shocked crowd, allegedly by the father. And the shocking act 
allegedly continued minutes later at Tabubil police station last 
Thursday in front of curious onlookers, including policemen and the

attempted unsuccessfully to take the baby from him because he was

has confirmed that a run off will be holding in the governorship

 off between the person with the highest number of votes and the person

 Independent National Electoral Commission in Nigeria (INEC) has warned 
that it may have no other option but to cancel results in some areas 
where the state returning officer recorded violence.</strong></em></b></i><br>
<i><b>The spokesman for the INEC chairman, Mr Kayode Idowu, said the 
commission had recorded reports of electoral violence in some places and
 would deal with it appropriately.</b></i><br>

<i><b>“We have received reports of incidents of Security breaches in some 
areas, particularly in Rivers State, but security agents have been on 
top of their game and we have been able to also conduct elections in 
those hot spots.</b></i><br>

<i><b>“There are areas where you have incidents of violence. Generally speaking, the election went on across the country.</b></i><br>

<i><b>“There are report of breaches of the peace in Abia State. There are 
challenges to the peace in many of the areas,” Mr Idowu said, confirming
 reports of violence in some areas.</b></i><br>

<i><b>He, however, said that reports received by the commission also showed that elections had gone on quite well in all the states.</b></i><br>

 Nigerian Air Force says the accident reported earlier involving its 
Super Puma Helicopter was due to hydraulic failure while on taxi to the 
hanger.</em></strong></b></i><br>
<i><b>According to the Air Force, the accident occurred at about 10:00am on
 Friday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos 
State, while the helicopter was returning to the Apron after the 
completion of a training mission.</b></i><br>

<i><b>“The helicopter suffered severe damage due to hydraulic failure while
 on taxi to the hanger,” the spokesman for the Air Force, Air Commodore 
Dele Alonge, said in a statement..</b></i><br>

<i><b>There was no casualty recorded.</b></i><br>

<i><b>But the main Rotor debris caused damage to some ground equipment, the statement further read.</b></i><br>
